The Department of Pediatrics - House Staff Education is currently seeking a chief resident who will serve as a direct report to the pediatric program director. Job duties include patient care, teaching, and administration. Those duties include but are not limited to the following:
PATIENT CARE:

Direct care of patients at the Harris County Hospital District Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Clinic in Pasadena.
TEACHING:
-
Supervision/teaching of medical students; Supervision/teaching of residents.

Providing patient care at Texas Children's Hospital and the Harris County Hospital District hospitals and clinics.

Scheduling and conducting teaching conferences.

Orientation of residents to their rotations.

Assist in evaluating and providing feedback to residents and medical students.
ADMINISTRATION:

Serve as the primary liaison between residents and faculty members.

Creation and maintenance of residents’ yearly and daily schedules.

Helping ensure all regulatory requirements (e.g., those of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) with respect to residents are met.

Help address personnel issues involving residents (e.g., interpersonal conflicts, absence due to illness)
