We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our Hollywood location. This is a key position in our branch. You are often the first person a customer speaks with, and the way you handle that conversation can determine whether we win the rental, lose the rental, or build a long-term customer relationship.
This is not just an order-taking job. We need someone who can listen, ask the right questions, recommend the right equipment, follow up, and close business.
Position Overview
The Counter Sales Representative is responsible for helping walk-in and phone customers with equipment rentals, sales inquiries, quotes, reservations, contracts, and customer follow-up. This person must be organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced rental environment where accuracy, urgency, and customer service matter every day.
The right candidate will be someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and understands that every call, every quote, and every customer interaction is an opportunity to grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming customer calls and assist walk-in customers in a professional, helpful, and timely manner.
Ask questions to understand what equipment the customer needs, what type of work they are doing, where the job is located, and when the equipment is needed.
Recommend the correct rental equipment based on the customer’s job, site conditions, height, weight, access, and application.
Prepare rental quotes, reservations, and contracts accurately in the rental system.
Ask for the order and work to close rentals instead of only sending quotes.
Follow up on open quotes, pending rentals, dormant customers, and lost opportunities.
Coordinate with dispatch, service, yard, and sales to confirm equipment availability, delivery timing, and customer expectations.
Maintain accurate customer information, jobsite details, contact information, and notes in the system.
Support outside sales by passing along leads, customer needs, and potential opportunities.
Handle customer questions regarding rates, delivery, pickup, equipment availability, rental terms, and basic equipment operation.
Communicate clearly with customers if there are delays, substitutions, availability issues, or changes to a delivery or pickup.
Help maintain a professional counter area and represent the Hollywood branch with urgency and pride.

Strong attention to detail and ability to enter accurate information.
Comfortable speaking with contractors, business owners, drivers, and walk-in customers.
Ability to learn construction equipment, rental terms, rates, and basic jobsite applications.
Reliable, professional, and willing to take ownership of the customer experience.
Prior equipment rental, construction, dispatch, inside sales, counter sales, or contractor supply experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Preferred Experience
Equipment rental experience.
Inside sales or counter sales experience.
Experience with construction equipment, aerial lifts, earthmoving equipment, compact equipment, generators, or contractor tools.
Experience using rental software or CRM systems.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
