Medical Assistant Float (Part-Time)
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Job Description
Allergy Asthma Clinic is seeking a dependable and flexible Medical Assistant Float to join our clinical team. This position will be primarily based in our East Valley office with a semi-set schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Friday each week.
After completing training, the selected candidate will be expected to float between our East Valley, Central Phoenix, and North Phoenix locations as needed to provide coverage and support. Occasional travel to our Surprise office may be required, though this is rare.
This is an excellent opportunity for a medical assistant who enjoys variety, works well independently, and is comfortable adapting to different office environments while maintaining exceptional patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required
- Active Medical Assistant Certification or course completion certificate required
- Current CPR/AED certification for Healthcare Providers preferred
- Allergy experience preferred but not required
Schedule
Training Schedule:
- Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Possible Wednesday training day in our Central Phx office
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Additional training days and hours will be discussed during the interview process.
Clinical Duties
- Support providers in delivering quality care to pediatric and adult Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology patients
- Prepare and administer allergy immunotherapy injections
- Perform allergy testing, pulmonary function testing, and other clinical procedures
- Administer biologic medications
- Process prescription refills and prior authorizations
- Triage patient calls and communicate with providers regarding patient care
- Provide patient education and distribute educational materials
- Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between office locations within the Phoenix Metro area
- Excellent patient rapport and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication and chart documentation skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- EMR experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and adapt to multiple office locations
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping
- Ability to move throughout the clinic while assisting patients and providers
