Our Southern California operation is growing, and we’re seeking an Independent Design Consultant to partner with us. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-employed design professional who wants to align with a premium, design-led outdoor living brand.

Commercial Structure
- Independent consultant arrangement — operate as your own design business (sole proprietorship or LLC)
- Commission-only, uncapped earnings directly tied to your project outcomes
- Realistic OTE $100,000+ USD for committed, design-savvy professionals
- No cold calling — Vergola® marketing and brand generate warm, inbound project inquiries
- High autonomy — manage your own schedule, clients, and workflow
What You’ll Be Doing — Design-Led Client Consulting
- Managing a steady flow of warm project inquiries through our CRM
- Attending pre-qualified on-site consultations
- Assessing spaces, site conditions, and architectural context to determine optimal Vergola® integration
- Exploring design options, finishes, and structural interfaces with existing or proposed construction
- Helping clients visualize how a Vergola® will extend and enhance their indoor-outdoor living and entertaining areas
- Preparing concept layouts and tailored Vergola® solutions in line with design, structural, and code requirements
- Presenting proposals, clearly explaining design rationale and key product benefits (operation, light, shade, ventilation, weather protection)
- Liaising with our project/installation team to ensure a seamless handover from design to delivery
- Maintaining accurate notes and updates in the CRM so every opportunity is professionally progressed
What You Bring
At least 2 years’ experience in a design-related or consultative role, ideally in:
- Architecture, building design, interior design, outdoor structures, landscape design, shading systems, or similar
- Practical understanding of residential construction and detailing — essential for integrating Vergola® into new and existing structures
- A consultative, solution-focused approach — you listen, interpret the space, and propose the right Vergola® outcome
- Ability to translate technical information into clear, client-friendly explanations
- Strong organization and follow-through — confident juggling multiple site visits, concepts, quotes, and stakeholders
- Comfortable using CRM and digital tools to manage your design pipeline
- Self-motivated, professional, and confident operating as an independent consultant
- Reliable, presentable vehicle and a current California driver’s license
- Full authorization to work in the United States
