Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental x-rays to inform treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health journey.
- Operate dental equipment such as ultrasonic scalers, X-ray machines, and digital imaging systems while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Open Dental accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to healthcare standards.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings with a focus on patient care.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Open Dental for documentation and scheduling.
- Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Ability to perform dental x-rays (including X-ray procedures) accurately while maintaining patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
