Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota RN license
- Master’s degree, doctoral degree with the focus of Nurse Midwifery
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice RN (APRN), CNM in the State of Minnesota
- Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs accurate history and physical examinations of women.
- Provides primary care in an ambulatory setting for women including ordering and evaluation of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications.
- Provides inpatient obstetrical care for women including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of lacerations/episiotomy, and management of minor complications. Initiates emergency care as needed.
- Provides individualized teaching and counseling utilizing the nurse-midwifery philosophy.
- Identifies deviations from normal, and consults, co-manages, or refers as appropriate.
- Completes necessary documentation.
- Participates in quality improvement projects, research, and continuing education activities.
- Instructs and supervises midwifery students and other learners as assigned.
- Prescribes medications, treatment modalities, and durable medical equipment as indicated by health condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
