Position Title: Front of House Manager
Location: Bread Creek Tavern – Bar Harbor, Maine
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily dining room operations at Bread Creek Tavern, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service, and strong team performance. Key Responsibilities
Service & Operations
- Lead and manage all front of house service, including dining room, bar, and host stand
- Ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences and resolve guest concerns professionally
- Maintain service standards, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with kitchen leadership to ensure smooth service flow and communication
Staff Leadership & Development
- Hire, onboard, and train FOH team members, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
- Develop training materials and maintain service standards and SOPs
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
Scheduling & Labor Management
- Create and manage weekly staff schedules aligned with business levels and labor targets
- Monitor labor costs and adjust staffing to maintain efficiency without compromising service
- Manage time-off requests and shift coverage
Beverage & Drink Program Support
- Collaborate on development and updates of the drink menu, including cocktails, beer, and wine offerings
- Train staff on beverage knowledge, upselling, and responsible alcohol service
- Assist in maintaining bar standards, inventory practices, and vendor coordination
Social Media & Marketing Support
- Assist in managing and updating social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook)
- Promote events, specials, and seasonal offerings in alignment with brand voice
- Coordinate basic content such as photos, menu updates, and announcements
Entertainment & Events
- Book and coordinate live entertainment, music, and special events
- Manage entertainment schedules and ensure alignment with business needs and guest experience
- Act as point of contact for performers and event partners
Administrative & Financial Oversight
- Support cost control efforts including labor and front-of-house supplies
- Assist with reporting, daily sales tracking, and operational documentation
- Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations, including liquor laws

Qualifications
- 2–5 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with staff scheduling, onboarding, and training
- Knowledge of bar operations and beverage programs preferred
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic marketing concepts
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
