Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shift Lead to join our team. As a Shift Lead, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to the animals in our facility as well as interacting with customers and directing staff. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for animal care and a desire to work in a animal care setting.
Annual reviews with raises based on job performance. Also receive tips which average around an additional $3/hour!
Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercise
- Clean and sanitize kennels and common areas to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Perform grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trims
- Administer medications, training provided but must be comfortable with giving occasional insulin injections
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, medications, and treatments
- Directing day to day operations at the kennel, including managing staff
- Communicate issues or concerns to management
- Checking customers in and out, answering the phone, and responding to messages
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals is highly recommended
- Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Must be willing to work holidays and in all weather conditions
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
