Bloomingdale Day Care is seeking an experienced, organized, and caring Child Care Center Director to lead the daily operations of our licensed childcare center.

Position Summary
The Child Care Center Director will oversee the daily operations of Bloomingdale Day Care and work closely with ownership to ensure the center runs smoothly, safely, and professionally.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for early childhood education. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing staff, enrollment, licensing requirements, parent communication, classroom quality, and daily administrative operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
*Leadership and Staff Management*
- Lead, supervise, and support classroom staff.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback.
- Develop staff schedules and maintain appropriate classroom ratios.
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support staff professional development.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.
*Licensing and Compliance*
- Ensure compliance with all New Jersey childcare licensing regulations and center policies.
- Maintain required staff and child records.
- Coordinate and document emergency drills, inspections, and required training.
- Ensure health, safety, supervision, and sanitation standards are consistently maintained.
- Address licensing concerns and implement corrective actions when needed.
*Program Quality and Classroom Support*
- Support implementation of the center’s curriculum and educational philosophy.
- Monitor classroom environments to ensure age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Promote positive child guidance and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Support classroom organization, engagement, and readiness.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives, including Grow NJ Kids when applicable.
*Family Relations and Enrollment*
- Build strong relationships with current and prospective families.
- Respond to parent questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Conduct tours for prospective families and assist with enrollment.
- Track inquiries, tours, applications, enrollment status, and classroom placement needs.
- Support enrollment growth through follow-up communication and community outreach.
*Business and Daily Operations*
- Monitor attendance and enrollment trends.
- Support tuition, documentation, and administrative processes.
- Assist ownership with budget awareness, staffing efficiency, and operational planning.
- Use center systems including Procare, email, phone systems, attendance tracking, incident reporting, and related administrative tools.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Child Care Center Director, Daycare Director, Assistant Director, or comparable childcare leadership role required.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare center required.
- Must be able to provide documentation of education, transcripts, credentials, and experience needed to meet applicable New Jersey Office of Licensing staff qualification requirements.
- College credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Experience working with children under six years of age in a group childcare or early childhood setting required.
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey childcare licensing regulations.
- Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience managing enrollment, tours, family communication, and staff scheduling.
- Strong understanding of classroom quality, child supervision, and developmentally appropriate practices.
**Compensation and Benefits**
- Salary Range : $60,000 to $70,000 per year

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
