Responsibilities
- Collect patient balances for copays, past due balances and procedures
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate check-in procedures with professionalism and courtesy
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Manage incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately
- Collect and process insurance information, including health insurance knowledge and Medicare requirements, ensuring accurate billing and documentation review
- Maintain and update patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Handle incoming referrals and creating patient charts
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans documentation, reviewing medical records, and managing filing systems efficiently
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, typing (including 10 key typing), filing, and maintaining organized medical office files
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or clinic environment with strong medical administrative support skills; 2 years experience required
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, prior experience with electronic health records management is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance processes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and medical office management software
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous experience working in healthcare environments that involve clinical confidentiality policies is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
