EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports the Accounts Payable Section within the Bureau of Fiscal Management, ensuring that financial transactions and reports are accurate and timely. The role includes problem solving, communication, and consistent review of invoice-related tasks. As a Accountant 2, you will perform the following duties:

Invoice Review: Examine and process invoices while resolving discrepancies with vendors, purchasers, and receivers

Report Preparation: Prepare and analyze Federal Highway Administration 500 series reports before submission to federal partners, as well as prepare monthly reports

Process Support: Assist with improving invoice procedures, clearing issues, and implementing new statewide processes

Technical Guidance: Provide direction to district staff and suppliers regarding payment practices and reconciliation matters

Communication Duties: Respond to calls and emails through the resource account to determine appropriate actions

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
