Berry College invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program that supports first-generation college students, students from limited-income households, and students with documented disabilities as they persist toward graduation and successful post-baccalaureate outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of TRIO Student Support Services, the Coordinator serves as a student-facing professional who provides individualized support, develops and implements student success programming, tracks participant outcomes, and contributes to the achievement of federal grant objectives. The Coordinator works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to promote academic success, personal development, leadership, financial well-being, and career readiness.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provide individualized success coaching, academic support, and resource referrals to TRIO SSS participants.

Recruit, identify, and enroll eligible students in accordance with federal grant requirements.

Manage an assigned caseload of approximately 120 TRIO SSS participants, providing proactive outreach, individualized support, progress monitoring, and intervention strategies designed to promote persistence, academic achievement, and timely degree completion.

Monitor student academic progress and implement retention and intervention strategies that support student success.

Plan and facilitate workshops, educational events, and enrichment activities related to academic achievement, financial literacy, health and wellness, leadership development, graduate school preparation, career readiness, and student engagement.

Track student participation, maintain participant records, and ensure accurate documentation of services delivered.

Assist with collection, analysis, and reporting of program data to support assessment efforts and federal reporting requirements.

Supervise and mentor TRIO student leaders, peer mentors, and/or LifeWorks student employees.

Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to connect students with academic support and campus resources.

Assist with implementation of educational, and community-building experiences that support the holistic development of participants.

Support the Director in ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations and achievement of grant objectives.

Represent TRIO Student Support Services at campus events, recruiting activities, and institutional initiatives related to student success.

This position is well-suited for a candidate who enjoys meaningful engagement with students, collaborative partnerships across campus, and hands-on program leadership within a mission-driven college environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate a genuine commitment to student development, educational opportunity, and helping students overcome barriers to success.
The Coordinator is expected to maintain meaningful relationships with an assigned caseload of approximately 120 participants and contribute directly to the program's federally established objectives related to retention, academic success, graduation, and post-baccalaureate enrollment.
This position is funded through the federally supported TRIO Student Support Services grant. Berry College is currently operating in the fifth and final year of its 2022-2027 grant cycle and has received notification of continued funding for the 2027-2032 grant period. Continued employment remains contingent upon the availability of federal grant funding and successful grant renewal outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, social work, education, or a related field preferred.

Experience working with college students in advising, coaching, mentoring, educational opportunity programs, or related student-support roles.

Demonstrated commitment to supporting first-generation students, students from limited-income backgrounds, students with disabilities, and other underserved student populations.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
