Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/out processes using veterinary software.
- Assist with animal restraint, handling dogs, cats, and other species to ensure safe examinations and treatments.
- Prepare animals for procedures by applying aseptic techniques, inserting IV catheters, and monitoring anesthesia during surgeries.
- Support veterinary staff with laboratory work
- Operate medical equipment such as ,anesthesia monitors, and other diagnostic tools with precision.
- Maintain detailed records of animal physiology, medication administration, surgical assistance, and critical care interventions.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans, post-operative care, and general pet health advice.
- Assist in emergency medicine situations by providing critical patient support under veterinarian supervision.
- Ensure the clinic environment remains clean and sterile by practicing proper aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining a safe environment for animals in our care.
Experience
Willing to train
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience with veterinary critical care or emergency medicine enhances your ability to respond swiftly in urgent situations.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures including phlebotomy and diagnostic testing is preferred
- Veterinary technician experience or equivalent certification is a plus; strong general veterinary experience is essential.
- Ability to perform IV insertions, vascular access procedures, animal restraint techniques, and anesthesia monitoring confidently.
