Overview
The Public Affairs Associate will guide earned media and public affairs campaigns, supporting coalition-building and developing strategies that inspire stakeholders, media, and decision-makers. You will guide media and messaging campaigns for household brands while also shaping consequential policy conversations on exciting issues. The role offers direct client exposure, meaningful responsibility, internal leadership opportunities, and a pathway for growth as the company expands.
The hybrid role is located in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs and requires two days in-office and occasional in-state travel and on-site client responsibilities.
Duties
- Lead earned media and public affairs campaigns
- Develop messaging, strategy, and tactical plans
- Manage client communications and deliverables
- Track policy, media, issues and stakeholders
- Coordinate execution across multiple projects
Qualifications
- Experienced in public affairs, communications, and media relations in Illinois (min. 2-4 years)
- Strong writer, strategic thinker
- Highly organized, able to manage fast-paced work
- Comfortable in a client-facing role
- Excited by work in policy and media
