Position Overview: Associate Industrial Engineer
The Associate Industrial Engineer will serve as a critical link between operations, technology, and client strategy—translating data into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service outcomes across MasonHub’s fulfillment network.
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for finding, developing, and executing projects that will improve our operations or provide a growth path for our clients. Develops and provides
mathematical analyses to support Engineering recommendations for improvements. Guides Kaizen events to reduce waste in our operations. Updates facility layouts and helps develop material handling equipment designs, storage media designs, process designs, slotting and pick path analyses. Other general outputs include capacity plans with noted constraints, warehouse utilization studies, and labor models and staffing plans
This role blends analytical thinking, data science techniques, and supply chain acumen to optimize processes such as inventory control, order fulfillment, labor planning, and transportation. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of operations and analytics, with a passion for uncovering patterns in data to inform smarter business decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Drive labor improvement through the creation of engineered labor standards, performance incentive roll-out, cost benefit evaluations, workflow analysis, asset utilization, and scheduling optimization.
· Enhancing FC efficiency through deployment of lean methodologies, coaching and mentoring of team and associates, effective leadership of continuous improvement projects with exceptional data collection and visualization.
· Map the current state, identify the future state, and develop standard work for normal and
abnormal workflow in order to streamline and standardize tasks.
· Analyzes client data to determine order profiles, storage media application, product slotting, velocity, SKU affinities.
· Prepares engineering documents to describe solution and detailed operating concepts such as storage and shipping capacity, zoning, slotting, waving, etc. and facilitates reviews with key work stream leads including engineering peers, WMS Implementation, and operations.
· Participates in the creation and/or update of WMS configuration files with all needed
locations slotting/zoning/sequences/put-away and picking profiles for the facility and
preparing slotting files and/or slotting tool for the facility
· Supporting initiatives that ensure the FC operates with industry best practices in the areas of Innovation, Efficiency, Customer Service/Service Level, Inventory Management and Quality.
· Producing daily reports to a variety of distribution lists to provide information regarding daily performance, forecasted workloads and various trend updates.
· Develop and maintain advanced analytics and dashboards to monitor fulfillment KPIs, including order cycle time, pick/pack productivity, storage utilization, and shipping performance.
· Use SQL, Python, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) to extract, clean, and analyze operational data from WMS, TMS, and client systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in analytics, operations planning, or supply chain optimization (3PL or eCommerce experience preferred).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib/seaborn), and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and inventory management concepts.
- Ability to design and interpret forecasting, regression, clustering, and optimization models.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills—capable of simplifying complex analyses into clear business recommendations.
- Experience integrating or analyzing data from WMS, LMS, and TMS systems.
- Strong attention to detail with a bias toward automation, scalability, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Python-based data pipelines, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
- Background in Lean process improvement or operations research modeling.
- Exposure to machine learning or predictive analytics for supply chain applications.
- Prior experience supporting KPI frameworks, cost modeling, or rate optimization projects.
- Advanced degree or certification in data analytics, supply chain analytics, or applied statistics is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: The target salary range for this full-time role is $60,000–$80,000 + equity + benefits. MasonHub determines salary ranges based on scope and location; individual pay is determined by experience, education, and demonstrated capability.
