Performs the functions of a Registered Occupational Therapist in evaluating, planning, implementing and educating all referred patient care, under the supervision of the Rehab. Manager and Lead Occupational Therapist. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
1. Reports to the Rehab Manager regarding program development, form revisions and Quality Assurance as assigned. 2%
2. Performs testing and evaluation procedures as indicated. 20%
3. Plans and implements Occupational Therapy program for each patient based on therapist's evaluation findings and physician's prescription. 20%
4. Instructs patient in exercise routines, home program, use of adaptive equipment and self-care activities. Instructs patient's family in these areas if needed. Fabricates self-care or orthotic devices as necessary. 7%
5. Records and reports patient initial, progress and discharge notes in a timely way. 20%
6. Attends scheduled team conferences and discharge planning meetings. 2%
7. Promotes safe environment for patient and staff in the facility. 2%
8. Supervises students, techs and assistants. 2%
9. Makes use of modalities available in the department 6%
10. Utilizes trained technicians in partial treatments and supervises these programs regularly 2%
11. Assist Rehab Manager in coordinating daily activities including patient orders and staff scheduling. 3%
12. Recognizes problems, analyzes needs and makes recommendations to the Rehab manager. 2%
13. Promotes efficient utilization of human resources by delegating work appropriately and monitors quality, quantity and timeliness of designated activities. 2%
14. Promotes positive, cooperative working relationships with intra and inter-disciplinary personnel, assists with communicating information to other pertinent areas. 2%
15. Represents the department when indicated at professional and related conferences and meetings. 2%
16. Provides liaison from nursing division and medical staff in regards to patient care and Occupational Therapy activities. 4%
17. Performs other work duties as assigned. 2%
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Graduate of a professional Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the National Accreditation Bodies of the Profession. Must hold a Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. 2. Passed the National Registration examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association; must hold current registration with that body. 3. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. 4. As required by the state, therapist obtains necessary annual CEU's maintaining compliance with state guidelines. 5. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must hold a Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
Graduate of a professional Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the National Accreditation Bodies of the Profession
Passed the National Registration examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association
