Registered Behavior Technician Job Description
The Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the direct implementation of ABA programming for clients ages 18 months to 6 years in a center-based setting under the supervision and direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The clinician promotes optimal function and engagement in meaningful activities; provides support to families and collaborates with other disciplines as needed to address goals and objectives as indicated in each child's Individualized Treatment Plan. In compliance with state and local requirements, the Registered Behavior Technician will be responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation. The RBT must possess strong verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills, problem-solving, and competency in using a computer to access the electronic health record. Must have strong social skills to work collaboratively with families and service providers and provide effective training
- Provide interventions and procedures as prescribed in the individualized treatment plan including reinforcement, extinction, verbal behavior intensive teaching, discrete trial training, Natural Environment training
- Provides 1:1 or group ABA services in center-based setting
- Maintains data collection procedures outlined in treatment plan and per BCBA instruction.
- Participates in required levels of supervision per IBHS requirements
- Completes billing, documentation, and trainings/supervision within specified timeframes
- Provide crisis intervention when needed (training will be provided)
- Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when interacting with clients and families
- Uphold BACB ethical code
- Maintain professional competence and skills via training, continuing education, and supervision
- Meets productivity targets for billable service delivery
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures
- Completes all required annual trainings
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families, in accordance with HIPAA and County, State and Federal regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADA Requirements (essential functions, full-time)
- Must be able to move freely between standing and sitting positions during therapy sessions
- Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, run, reach in all directions, and crawl as a means of demonstrating and teaching therapeutic interventions
- Consistently requires the use of technology (computer, tablet, smart phone) to communicate with staff and families
- Must have transportation to provide in-home or community visits when needed
- Position requires oral and written communication skills, and critical thinking on a regular basis
- Position may also require occasional lifting and positioning of children up to 50 pounds

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, High School Diploma Required
CERTIFICATION: Registered Behavior Technician certification preferred. Will offer training to become certified.
Current and valid certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
Current PA Child Abuse, Criminal, and FBI fingerprinting Clearances required
PA Mandated Reporter Training required (can provide)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience working with clients age 2-6 years with ASD diagnosis.
Detail oriented
Ability to complete notes/documentation in timely manner
Knowledge of ABA and interventions relevant to ASD
