Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Sort and organize clean items for proper storage or immediate use in food preparation areas.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including ingredient handling and prep work under supervision.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
- Follow strict sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with kitchen health and safety standards.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and dish racks safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen environment by regularly sanitizing work surfaces and equipment.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures.
- Experience with food handling, food service operations, or restaurant environments is preferred.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic cleaning tools efficiently.
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on heavy lifting and safe movement of bulky items.
- Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when required.
- Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
