Responsibilities and Duties
The Gibson County Surveyor’s Office is seeking an Assistant Surveyor. The position is responsible for conducting survey and office work for various surveying activities, including, but not limited to, Section Corner Perpetuation and the referencing of corner monuments, ditch cross-sections, drainage watershed determination, and topographic surveys. The position also includes driving the county truck with a trailer and performing other miscellaneous survey-related work as assigned by the Surveyor’s Office.
All employees of the Gibson County Surveyor's Office share responsibility for maintaining office information systems and files and for providing functional guidance to other Courthouse offices on the maintenance of their systems. All office employees also assist visitors and customers of the Gibson County Surveyor's Office and other offices and agencies.
Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, computer drafting, and other computer applications must be achieved during employment. Extensive knowledge and skill must also be developed in operating GPS, data collectors, total stations, and other surveying equipment, as well as in field techniques for applying these systems. Prior experience and formal education are preferred but not required.
Pay: $23.05 per hour
