Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to support a high-volume healthcare nonprofit organization. This role is responsible for claims submission, insurance follow-up, denial resolution, and accounts receivable management. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing and be committed to maximizing reimbursement and maintaining accurate billing records.
Responsibilities
- Submit and monitor insurance claims for timely reimbursement.
- Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts with insurance carriers.
- Process claim corrections, appeals, and payment adjustments.
- Maintain accurate account documentation and billing records.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and billing regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing and revenue cycle experience.
- Strong claims processing and denial management experience required.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
- Experience with insurance follow-up and accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with medical billing software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in an FQHC or community health setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
