About the Opportunity:
Allied Staff Augmentation Partners (ASAP) is hiring on behalf of a leading utility client for a Senior Procurement Specialist to support procurement operations at a commercial nuclear generating station on California's Central Coast.
This is a senior-level, contract-heavy procurement role with a strong emphasis on managing a category of services rather than transactional purchasing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, SAP, and negotiating complex service contracts within a highly regulated environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional looking to play a key role supporting critical operations while working with cross-functional stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
GSA per diem is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an assigned category of services and develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the procurement lifecycle for complex service contracts from sourcing strategy through contract execution.
- Negotiate complex service agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, and other contractual documents.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop effective procurement solutions.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFPs and RFQs, while evaluating supplier capabilities and overall value.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through effective contract negotiations and ongoing supplier management.
- Utilize SAP to manage procurement activities, contract administration, and supplier information.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support procurement initiatives within a highly regulated operating environment.
Qualifications Required:
- 7+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- Strong SAP procurement experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating complex service contracts.
- Experience managing a procurement category of services.
- Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
- Experience with RFPs, RFQs, Statements of Work (SOWs), and contract administration.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
- Nuclear industry experience.
- Utility or other highly regulated industry experience.
- Experience negotiating material contracts.
Additional Information:
- Contract-to-hire opportunity with an anticipated contract duration of approximately 6–9 months prior to potential conversion.
- Hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days per week onsite in San Luis Obispo, CA.
- Candidates must currently reside on or be willing to relocate to California's Central Coast to meet project requirements.
- GSA per diem is available for eligible candidates.
Pay: $100.00 - $125.00 per hour
