Tallahassee Fleet Solutions is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Heavy-Duty Parts Counter Salesperson to join our team.
This position assists commercial fleet customers, repair shops, technicians, municipalities, and other professional accounts with identifying, locating, and purchasing the correct parts for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have parts-counter, heavy-duty, diesel, mechanical, or repair-shop experience. Strong customer-service skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in person, by phone, and electronically with parts inquiries and orders.
- Identify and locate parts using electronic catalogs, manufacturer resources, VINs, unit numbers, measurements, and customer-provided information.
- Recommend appropriate parts and products for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, and related equipment.
- Prepare quotes, process sales transactions, and create invoices.
- Place special orders and communicate pricing, availability, and expected delivery times.
- Follow up on open orders, backorders, warranties, cores, and customer requests.
- Build professional relationships with fleet managers, technicians, repair shops, and commercial customers.
- Pull and prepare parts for pickup or delivery.
- Receive, inspect, stock, and organize incoming merchandise as needed.
- Process returns, warranties, and core transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked counter and showroom.
- Work with outside sales representatives, drivers, warehouse employees, and management to meet customer needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Follow company safety, cash-handling, credit, and customer-account procedures.
- Perform other store and customer-service duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous Heavy Duty Vehicle/Equipment Industry experience is required (diesel, heavy-duty truck, fleet, industrial, agricultural, or equipment-parts)
- Current or very recently working in the heavy duty parts and/ or repair industry is required.
- Basic knowledge of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, or diesel equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to use electronic parts catalogs, point-of-sale systems, email, and basic computer programs.
- Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to accurately read part numbers, measurements, specifications, and vehicle information.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance and a professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new products and applications.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, climb, and move throughout the store and warehouse.
- Ability to safely lift and carry parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in store, warehouse, and loading-area environments where temperatures may vary.
