Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting independence.
- Implement behavior management plans using applied behavior analysis techniques to encourage positive behaviors.
- Monitor vital signs and observe behavioral changes to inform treatment strategies.
- Support crisis intervention efforts by managing emergency situations calmly and effectively, ensuring client and staff safety.
- Document medical records, behavioral data, and progress notes accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper medical documentation is maintained.
- Conduct intake assessments and collect comprehensive data to support individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with social workers, clinicians, and families to develop tailored care strategies that meet each client’s needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and crisis intervention strategies is essential.
- Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring PTSD care is a plus.
- Ability to perform medical tasks such as taking vital signs and medication administration accurately.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation, and record keeping standards (HIPAA compliance).
- Experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management, or special education will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient care coordination and data collection.
