Position Overview
Ocean House Bakery is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Baker to join our growing bakery team.
We are a 100% gluten-free bakery with a nut-free kitchen, producing a wide variety of baked goods for our retail bakery, wholesale customers, farmers markets, special orders, and nationwide shipping.
Prior gluten-free baking experience is a plus, but not required. We are happy to train an experienced baker who is comfortable following established recipes and procedures and is interested in learning gluten-free baking.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality baked goods, works efficiently, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of products according to established recipes and production schedules
- Produce items such as cookies, whoopie pies, cupcakes, muffins, scones, brownies, cakes, pies, and other bakery products
- Accurately measure and prepare ingredients
- Follow recipes and production procedures carefully to maintain consistency and quality
- Assist with mixing, baking, filling, frosting, decorating, and finishing products
- Prepare products for retail, wholesale, farmers markets, special orders, and shipping
- Monitor inventory and communicate ingredient or supply needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace
- Properly clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-control procedures
- Work efficiently to meet daily production needs and deadlines
- Assist with other bakery and production tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous professional baking, commercial kitchen, or food production experience preferred
- Gluten-free baking experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Commitment to cleanliness and food-safety standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical tasks associated with bakery production
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute wherever needed
