Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), where you will play a key role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Duties
- Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve patients’ motor, cognitive, and functional abilities.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Use therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance patient independence.
- Monitor patient progress, document treatment outcomes, and report changes to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and families on exercises, home modifications, and strategies to improve daily functioning.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients to safely transition back to their daily routines.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and rehabilitation patients.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with current state licensure as required.
- Experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, or home health.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and occupational therapy principles.
- Skilled in using therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment.
- Ability to document patient progress and adjust interventions under supervision.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and teamwork.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse patient populations.
