Job Summary:
Our company is looking for an experienced Business & Operations Manager with a background in UAS and aviation/aerospace to support the growth of an entrepreneurial technology development company. This role will drive the research and development roadmap for the company with focus on growth and value creation in the unmanned and autonomous systems market. The successful candidate must have experience in business development and project management with a thorough working knowledge and understanding of the aerospace/aviation industry.
Qualifications:
- Experience with autonomous and unmanned systems required
- Background in aerospace/aviation required
- Basic knowledge of how to create and monetize value and intellectual property
- Balanced understanding and experience in development of small to mid-size companies
- Working knowledge of addressable markets, segment stakeholders and key sectors in:
o Precision and Regenerative Agriculture
o Weather Science and Atmospherics
o Emergency Response and Disaster Recovery
o Above and Below Ground Utility Line Safety, Surveillance and Repair
o Energy/Pipeline Safety and Surveillance
o Autonomous and unmanned ground-based and aerial systems
- Experience in working with regulatory agencies – i.e., FAA and others
- 10+ years’ Management/Administration experience required
- 10+ years’ Project Management experience
- 10+ years’ Business Development experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office required (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT, etc.)
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat
Essential Functions:
- Coordinating and scheduling research, demonstration and development activities and/or projects
- Identify synergistic and strategic partnership opportunities in an effort to facilitate company growth.
- Responsible for orchestrating key functions in public, private, and academic areas.
- Facilitate and nurture multi-disciplinary teams, formulating actionable goals and objectives.
- Cultivate strong, cooperative and synergistic relationships among public, private, and academic stakeholders
- Produce professionally written proposals and communications for prospective business and potential partnerships
- Review technical specifications and contract documentation for all projects.
- Regularly provide innovative ideas, scenarios and solutions to support improvements in internal processes, quality of research and business development.
- Project and program management
- Management of field operations
- Participate in strategic planning for marketing and business development
- Provide Activity Reports delineating status and updates on a regular basis.
- Generate regular financial budgets and scenarios using primarily Excel spreadsheets
