Duties
- Safely operate Semi Trucks and Trailers across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Transport Dry VAN trailers or other specialized equipment based on route requirements
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing schedules and customer expectations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with experience driving tractor-trailers and commercial trucks
- Experience handling in Dry VANs and various type of Trailers.
- Strong knowledge of freight loading/unloading procedures and route driving strategies
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when necessary for cargo handling
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation laws
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or using equipment; capable of lifting heavy loads when required
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL
- 2+ years CDL A experience
- Clean driving record
- Willing to run 2 weeks OTR minimum
