Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Hotel Morning Cook to join our culinary team, working from 5:30 am to 10:30 am. This vital role involves preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast and morning meal offerings for our guests, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Duties
- Prepare and cook breakfast items and morning meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, poaching stations, braising pots, and food production appliances.
- Ensure food safety and sanitizing procedures are strictly followed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new breakfast ideas or modifications based on guest preferences and dietary needs.
- Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Maintain high-volume food production while adhering to recipe specifications and presentation standards.
- Support dietary department requirements by preparing specialized meals or accommodating dietary restrictions as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment, especially with breakfast or fine dining service.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal prep.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume settings.
- Experience with food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols.
- Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus, along with menu planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent knife skills, understanding of recipe adherence, and experience in food production for large groups are highly desirable.
