B.J. Forrest Trucking, Inc., is a growing family owned company seeking the following professional(s):
We are looking for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with strong leadership skills to take on a Lead Mechanic role. This position combines hands-on repair work with managing a team to ensure all equipment is maintained and repaired efficiently.
The ideal candidate has experience working on semi trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment and can lead a team to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Lead and supervise shop mechanics
- Assign and delegate daily tasks
- Ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and preventative maintenance
- Order parts and manage inventory
- Communicate shop status, issues, and needs with ownership
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Semi trucks
- Large trailers
- Heavy equipment
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and lead a team
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous shop lead or supervisory experience
- Welding/fabrication experience
