Key Responsibilities
Member Service and Relationship Management
- Deliver exceptional member service through consultative conversations and relationship building.
- Open, maintain, and service consumer, business, and specialty accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform account maintenance, transaction processing, and problem resolution with accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist members with digital banking services and electronic account access.
- Support members through complex or sensitive situations, including estate accounts, death claims, and escalated account concerns.
- Process member transactions, cash deposits, withdrawals, payments, and negotiable instruments accurately and efficiently while balancing cash drawers in accordance with established procedures.
Lending, Sales, and Financial Education
- Originate and process consumer loan applications in compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist members with mortgage and business lending inquiries and facilitate referrals when appropriate.
- Identify member needs and recommend products and services that support financial goals.
- Provide financial education and guidance to promote financial wellness and informed decision-making.
- Consistently achieve or exceed established service, referral, and performance goals.
- Support branch business development and community engagement initiatives.
Operations, Compliance, and Fraud Awareness
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain knowledge of account opening requirements, operational standards, and lending regulations.
- Identify, prevent, and escalate potential fraud, suspicious activity, and member security concerns.
- Educate members on fraud prevention, scam awareness, and account security best practices.
- Maintain accountability for cash handling, transaction accuracy, and balancing activities; promptly identify and resolve discrepancies while protecting confidential member information.
- Support overall branch efficiency and collaborate with team members to achieve branch goals.
- Full-time position with availability during branch operating hours, including Saturdays.
- Ability to open or close the branch as assigned.
- Flexibility to travel to other branch locations as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Consistent record of meeting performance and service expectations.
- Knowledge of financial institution products, services, and operations.
- Understanding of consumer lending, deposit products, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify member needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, digital banking platforms, and financial institution systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
- Comfortable using approved technology and AI-enabled tools to support productivity, communication, and member service while maintaining data security and compliance standards.
- NMLS Registration or ability to obtain.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Frequent standing, walking, and use of office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in a credit union, bank, or financial institution.
- Experience with consumer lending, account opening, and member service.
- Financial Coaching Certification, Financial Counseling Certification, Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®), Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC), or similar financial wellness credential.
