Our client, an industry leader in automotive manufacturing, is seeking an Automotive Manufacturing Purchasing Manager to join their team. As a Automotive Manufacturing Purchasing Manager, you will be part of the procurement department supporting the North American purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Automotive Manufacturing Purchasing Manager
Location: Holland, Michigan
Pay Range:$120,000 - $130,000K base plus benefits/bonus/relo
What's the Job?
- Develops and provides operational level strategic direction for the North American purchasing team and local purchasing activities.
- Leads and facilitates efforts supporting world-class practices, managing department-wide programs, and interfacing globally to develop new business growth opportunities.
- Researches and recommends new products, processes, systems, policies, and procedures to pursue future improvements.
- Develops long-term corporate goals and translates them into short-term plans aligned with business objectives.
- Builds and maintains a quality supplier base, working closely with suppliers and the Corporate Materials Department to support product development, cost reductions, and quality assurance.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, including four years of materials experience, or equivalent.
- Eight+ years of diverse professional and managerial experience, including financial/budget responsibility and strategic decision-making.
- Proven ability to develop and lead a world-class purchasing team, supporting staff development and departmental goals.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing purchasing is preferred, with strong computer skills and adaptability to new systems like SAP.
