Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dedicated mental health care team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments utilizing clinical research and medical terminology.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling tailored to patients’ needs, incorporating psychopharmacology and behavioral health strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, discharge planning, and case management for patients in outpatient, inpatient, or assisted living settings.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records.
- Engage in telehealth services to extend mental health support remotely while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications to promote recovery and resilience.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or pediatric populations including children and neonates.
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures such as venipuncture, IV infusion, suturing, sterile processing techniques, and airway management.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Experience with hospital medicine environments including ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings; acute care or emergency medicine experience is highly valued.
- Ability to perform mental health assessments alongside physical examinations using anatomy knowledge and physiology expertise.
- Skilled in medication administration including psychopharmacology principles; experience with Botox or dermal fillers is a plus for esthetic laser treatments within behavioral health contexts.
- Competent in utilizing various EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for efficient patient care documentation. Pay: $132,672.33 - $159,777.44 per year
