Intern Job Title: Videography Internship
Internship Supervisor Name and Title: Mayzie Clark-Brath, Video Specialist
Position Purpose: To learn and develop the ability to tell stories and produce content through video and to assist with the production and editing of the video needs of Bethel University.
Job Description and Learning Objectives:
Looking to create videos? I am looking for a creative person who is eager to learn how/enhance their ability to create videos from the very beginning of the project, forming the idea, shooting the footage, editing and promoting the final piece. This is a very hands-on internship with real work that you will create for Bethel University. Expect to be pushed and challenged to expand your creative problem solving, learn how to manage client relationships, understand the full process of editing a video, learn how to properly expose and capture footage, properly mic for interviews and so much more!
This internship is meant to help you gain the experience and knowledge that you desire. Although there will be set projects you are expected to complete, there will be some freedom to determine what “concentration” you would like to focus on. This could be creating videos for social media, working on creating a BU documentary story or a hype video for your favorite campus group/team/dorm. The sky is the limit, and I want to help and equip you to be able to tell the stories you want to tell.
Job Expectations:
- Edit with the Adobe Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
- Execute basic color correction, video closed captions and general audio enhancing, etc.
- Shoot footage using Sony cameras
- Learn the importance of data management
- Help me with some of my projects
- Work on some projects I create for you
- Evaluate the target audience and what videos could be helpful
- Learn how to market yourself as a creative in the work industry
- Dedicated time spent with me to make sure you can ask all the questions that you have and receive guidance regularly
- Plan and produce videos for:
- University Marketing, Social Media, Student Life and Institutional Advancement
- Build your portfolio

Job Knowledge/ Skills Required:
- Excellent computer skills (MAC OS) and the ability to learn new software
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a schedule well
- Passion to create artistic pieces and to tell stories
- Basic knowledge of operating DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, experience is preferred in video and photography, but is not required
Specifics:
- Part time, August 2026 – December 2026
- 150 hours per semester
- 10 hours per week
- 5 hours per week for filming & editing
- 2 hours per week for project work/ learning
- 2 hours for weekly office time to shadow me, ask questions, work on projects together
- 1 hour for weekly mentorship meeting/one-on-one
