Our client is a not-for-profit organization that manages affordable housing in NYC. They are seeking a a Handyman to join their team in Manhattan .
This person will have experience working in apartment/residential buildings that is very skilled in plumbing and electrical
Shift time: Tuesday – Saturday 2pm-11pm
Pay: $32.60 an hour
Job type: Contract, 3 months
Duties:
- Minor repairs of plumbing (nothing inside the wall), plumbing fixture repairs and replacements, search for leaks, minor radiator repairs etc
- Minor electrical ( nothing inside the wall or if sparking occurs), fixtures, outlets, alarms, breakers, connections etc
- Minor carpentry limitations to sheet rocking and painting.
- General plumbing repairs such as toilets, faucets, and minor leaks.
- Repair and replace general hardware such as doors, doorknobs, locks, and broken tiles.
- Minor cosmetic updates to apartments, entrances, and common areas such as painting, plaster, sanding, and wallpaper installation.
- Maintenance and upkeep of cooling towers and boilers, as well as assisting in repairs of heating and HVAC systems.
Requirements:
- 2 years of handyman experience
- High School Diploma or GED (Must be able to show proof)
- Basic carpentry and electrical skills
- Ability to solve problems and pay attention to details.
- Friendly, positive team player.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
Pay: $32.60 per hour
Work Location: In person
