Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting changes in behavior or physical condition, and communicate updates effectively
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support clients with medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
- Use proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques, including the use of Hoyer lifts and patient transfer devices, ensuring safety at all times
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
- Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice support
- Ability to perform patient personal care assistance including assisting with ADLs and manual handling safely and effectively
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance preferred
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts
