Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Metrology Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting precision measurement instruments and calibration systems critical to our manufacturing and quality assurance processes. Your expertise will ensure that all measurement tools and systems operate with the highest accuracy, supporting our commitment to excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced instrumentation, industrial automation, and field service operations, contributing directly to the integrity of our manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections and measurement data collection per work orders and project requirements
- Operate and maintain metrology equipment such as laser trackers, FARO arms, computers, software, and accessories
- Create inspection reports and supporting documentation as required
- Review work order routers for scope, schedules, and reporting expectations
- Communicate effectively with the B2 Area Manager and Project Managers regarding work status and requirements
- Maintain stewardship over all assigned metrology tools and equipment
- Accurately complete timekeeping for shop and field work
- Support metrology activities across the aerospace building and other Prime Machine locations as needed.
Safety & Compliance Expectations
- Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others in the work area
- Read, understand, and comply with the Prime Machine Safety Manual
- Participate in weekly safety meetings and present safety topics as assigned
- Review work setups for hazards and ensure safety requirements are met
- Attend assigned safety training (e.g., OSHA, MSHA)
- Understand and follow accident and incident reporting procedures
- Required to wear safety glasses and steel toe or composite toe footwear in all shop areas
Required Qualifications
- Experience in dimensional inspection or metrology in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
- Working knowledge of precision measurement tools and inspection processes
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, routers, and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and quality
- Willingness to ask questions to ensure clarity and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, safety‑focused environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with laser trackers, FARO arms, or similar coordinate measurement systems
- Exposure to aerospace manufacturing or tooling inspection
- Familiarity with inspection reporting software and documentation standards
Work Environment & Travel
- Primary work location: Prime Aerospace – B2 Facility
- Occasional support at other Prime Machine sites
- Minimal travel; some customer-site work as directed

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
