Position Overview
Assistant Dance Teachers work alongside our Lead Instructors to create a positive, engaging, and fun learning environment for students ages 3–15. This position is ideal for experienced dancers who are looking to gain teaching experience and grow into a Lead Dance Teacher role.
Training, mentorship, and lesson plans are provided. As you gain experience, you’ll have opportunities to assist with lesson planning, choreography, substitute teaching, and eventually lead your own classes.

- Hip-Hop
- Tots Dance (Creative Movement, Ballet & Tap)
- Tumbling
Schedule
- Part-Time (2–4 hours per week)
- Evening or Saturday Morning classes
- Additional opportunities for substitute teaching, camps, workshops, performances, and special events
Pay
$15–$25 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Instructor with teaching dance classes for students ages 3–15.
- Demonstrate dance movements, technique, stretches, exercises, choreography, and across-the-floor combinations.
- Help execute lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Lead warm-ups, movement exercises, and technique drills when requested.
- Provide encouragement and individual support to students during class.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and student engagement.
- Help prepare students for performances, recitals, and community events.
- Substitute for Lead Instructors when needed.
- Assist with studio setup, cleanup, and organization.
- Collaborate with staff on choreography, class planning, and special projects.
Qualifications
- Dance experience is required.
- Previous teaching, coaching, or assistant teaching experience is preferred.
- Must be able to confidently demonstrate dance technique, choreography, stretches, exercises, movement combinations, and across-the-floor progressions.
- Must be comfortable demonstrating movement in front of students and leading small groups when needed.
- Loves working with children ages 3–15.
- Positive, energetic, patient, and encouraging.
- Reliable, professional, and punctual.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to learn and receive coaching.
- Reliable transportation.
- Background check required.

Selected candidates will be invited for an interview. Finalists will then be asked to complete a paid trial assistant class, where they will assist one of our Lead Instructors during a scheduled class. This trial allows both the candidate and ICE Studios to determine if the position is a good fit before moving forward with employment.
