Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment to ensure food safety standards are met
- Support cooking processes by handling food items efficiently and accurately, including chopping, slicing, and portioning
- Assist with dishwashing duties to ensure timely turnover of clean dishes and kitchenware
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
- Help with basic menu planning and ingredient organization to streamline kitchen operations
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing food items and serving guests as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately
- Experience with dietary aide tasks or dietary department experience is a plus
- Willingness to support various kitchen roles including dishwashing, prep work, or cooking duties as needed
