Customer Service & Logistics Specialist – Tuscaloosa, AL
DESCRIPTION Dixie Pulp & Paper, Inc. is in need of a Customer Service & Logistics Specialist for our Tuscaloosa, AL Home Office location. Position reports to the Customer Service Manager. This role is responsible for managing assigned customer and supplier accounts while coordinating the planning, execution, and tracking of shipments.
This is not a sales or call-center role. Instead, it serves as a critical link between customers, suppliers, and transportation partners to ensure orders are executed accurately, efficiently and on time. Success in this position requires strong logistics coordination skills paired with a commitment to high-quality customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the movement of customer orders and shipments
- Monitor load activity from origin to delivery, ensuring timely execution
- Ensure accuracy of logistics documentation, including Bills of Lading, shipping records, and related paperwork
- Review and resolve issues related to order fulfillment, transportation, and delivery
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customer and supplier accounts
- Communicate proactively regarding order status, shipment updates, and issue resolution
- Build strong working relationships through responsive, professional, and solutions-focused service
- Handle and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner
- Maintain a high level of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions and logistics activities
- Update and maintain customer and supplier databases
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain coordination or customer account management preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and departments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel)
- Demonstrates independence, sound judgement, flexibility, and persistence in resolving issues
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
- Paper or recycling industry experience is a plus

Work schedule - 8 HR days - 30 min. flex schedule - Mon-Fri 7:30am-5:00pm (example: if you come in at 7:30 AM, you can leave at 4:30 PM - must arrive between 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM and leave no earlier than 4:30 PM)
