We are looking for a reliable overnight in-home caregiver for an elderly woman recovering at home after a serious hospital stay. She is currently dealing with delirium, confusion, and significant weakness.
The ideal shift is 10pm to 10am. She has good and bad nights. Some nights she may sleep, but other nights she may be awake for long stretches, ringing her bell, asking for help, trying to get up, needing sips of water, repositioning, personal care, pain medicine through her feeding tube as appropriate and trained, or calm reassurance when she is scared or confused.
This is active overnight care right now, not a sleep shift. We need someone calm, patient, and hands-on who can stay awake and engaged, respond when she needs help, keep her safe, gently reorient her, and avoid arguing with the delirium.
When she is settled, help with meal planning, light meal prep, care schedule organization, or care notes may be helpful. The main priority overnight is safety, reassurance, comfort, and responding appropriately when she wakes or rings for help.
Experience with elder care, delirium/dementia, stroke recovery, home health care, or hands-on personal care is preferred.
Pay is $20-$23/hour, depending on experience and fit.
