Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and trigger point therapy to facilitate recovery.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately according to clinical documentation standards and medical terminology.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment used during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper function.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently, ensuring all clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation are complete and up-to-date.
- Support discharge planning by preparing detailed reports on patient progress and recommending next steps for continued care.
- Provide compassionate patient care across various settings including inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health environments, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and acute care scenarios.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and adherence to clinical documentation standards.
- Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities.
- Experience operating medical equipment used in rehabilitation therapies with safety and precision.
- Familiarity with outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing facility, home health, pediatric, geriatric, orthopedic, and acute care environments.
- Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating patients on treatment protocols.
