The Daycare Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in a daycare environment. This position involves providing high-quality care, promoting a safe and nurturing atmosphere, and supporting children in their learning and social development. The Daycare Associate works closely with other staff members to create a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.

Supervise Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, providing constant supervision during playtime, meals, naps, and other activities.

Assist with Daily Care: Provide basic care such as feeding, changing diapers, assisting with potty training, and ensuring children’s personal hygiene needs are met.

Plan and Implement Activities: Organize and engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and exercises that promote physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

Maintain a Safe Environment: Keep the daycare space clean, organized, and free of hazards. Follow all safety procedures and emergency protocols.

Build Relationships with Children: Develop positive, trusting relationships with children, encouraging their social and emotional growth in a caring and supportive environment.

Communicate with Parents: Update parents on their child’s daily activities, behavior, and development. Address any concerns or questions they may have.

Support Teamwork: Collaborate with other daycare associates and staff to ensure a well-run and efficient daycare program.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to children's attendance, behavior, milestones, and any incidents or accidents.

Promote Positive Behavior: Help children develop good social skills, such as sharing, following directions, and resolving conflicts, in a gentle and constructive manner.

Participate in Training: Attend staff meetings, workshops, and ongoing training to improve skills and stay current with childcare best practices.

High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications in early childhood education or related fields may be preferred).

Previous experience working with young children in a daycare or similar setting (preferred but not required).

Knowledge of child development principles and basic first aid/CPR.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with both children and parents.

Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting children and standing for extended periods.

Hours are anywhere from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM - Monday thru Friday (may include early mornings or holidays depending on daycare operating hours).
