Job Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients within our healthcare facility. This position involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and providing essential administrative support to the medical team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a background in medical or dental office settings, enabling them to effectively communicate with patients and staff alike.
Some duties include but are not limited to:
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with the check-in process.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time slots.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Assist in the management of insurance verification and billing processes.
- Provide administrative support to medical staff as needed.
- Submit insurance referrals using the various referral portals.
- Scan documents from outside healthcare facilities and internal records to patients charts.
- Respond to patient inquiries, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster good relationships with patients and team members.
- Proficiency in office software applications and navigating computers is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, compassion and an positive attitude.
