Job Summary
Overview:
Weldforce Group is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating fabrication and construction projects, with a focus on skids, ASME vessels, and piping systems. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for fabrication and construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure complete and competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and technical details.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors for accurate pricing.
- Track and analyze project costs to ensure alignment with budgets and estimates.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and present them to management for review.
- Support continuous improvement in estimating methods and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the industrial, fabrication, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of skids, ASME codes, and piping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Duties
- Prepare detailed construction estimates by reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets and timelines.
- Develop comprehensive cost proposals including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Analyze project documents to identify potential risks, scope changes, or cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in the development of bid strategies and participate in bid presentations.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost control.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimating activities and update databases regularly for future reference.
- Support contract negotiations by reviewing terms related to scope of work, pricing, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with construction management teams to ensure estimates align with project execution plans.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, cost control, pricing strategies, and contract management within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards, project management principles, and construction management practices is preferred.
- Prior experience working on large-scale or complex projects will be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role. Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
