Position Overview
W*e are seeking an experienced, hands-on Property Manager* to oversee the daily operations of residential affordable housing communities.
The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive professional with 6–9 years of hands-on residential property management experience and a strong working knowledge of affordable housing regulations, compliance, tenant relations, and building operations.
Applicants must have 6–9 years of direct property management experience to be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of assigned residential properties.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, Section 8 regulations, LIHTC requirements, landlord-tenant laws, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff and outside vendors to ensure properties remain safe, clean, and well maintained.
- Monitor, respond to, and resolve violations issued by regulatory agencies within required deadlines.
- Build and maintain positive tenant relationships by addressing resident concerns promptly and professionally.
- Prepare properties for agency inspections and coordinate apartment access with residents.
- Maintain accurate tenant files and property records.
- Promote available property amenities and services to improve resident satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with ownership, vendors, and internal departments to ensure efficient property operations.
- Respond to emergencies after normal business hours when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- 6–9 years of hands-on residential property management experience (required).
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and Section 8 programs.
- Thorough understanding of Fair Housing laws and landlord-tenant regulations.
- Experience using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; CMMS experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of REAC inspections and New York City agencies including HPD, DOB, FDNY, and DHCR.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional telephone etiquette and strong written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Affordable housing certification(s) are a plus.
- Experience managing multiple residential properties.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
