Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and other drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders, and provide friendly, attentive service to enhance their café experience.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, beverage stations, and seating areas, following food safety standards.
- Handle cash transactions with precision, process payments, give change, and balance cash drawers at shift end.
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including basic food handling and beverage assembly.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Experience
- Previous barista experience or food service background is highly preferred; familiarity with café operations is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse patrons.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and POS processing.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with coffee preparation methods and beverage service is advantageous.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
