Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our fast-paced operations team. In this role, you will be the central hub for our transportation network, managing schedules, coordinating drivers and vehicles, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of employees.
Duties
- Serve as the main point of contact for real-time inquiries from drivers, clients, and internal departments.
- Assign vehicles and shift rosters to drivers, ensuring balanced workloads and compliance with rest/break requirements.
- Maintain clear communication with off-site staff regarding schedule changes, load details, or passenger needs.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, safety incidents, or accidents immediately to the Director.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, driver hours, fuel consumption, and maintenance logs.
- Oversee a team of 5 drivers and 6 vehicles.
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation planning, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight handling.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently using organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective dispatching, internal communication, and customer service interactions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Shift Availability: Must have flexible, 100% open availability to work morning, mid-day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules as assigned.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to resolve real-time operational bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts.
- Adaptability: Thrives in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment across different shift schedules.
- Stress Tolerance: Maintains poise and clear judgment during emergency situations or heavy operational delays.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures precise data entry, route planning, and regulatory compliance.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
