Duties
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of respiratory disorders, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and sleep-related breathing disorders.
- Provide comprehensive critical care management for patients in intensive care units, including ventilator management and airway stabilization.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing medical imaging, pulmonary function tests, and diagnostic radiology such as CT scans.
- Lead emergency response efforts for acute respiratory failure or trauma cases, ensuring rapid stabilization and intervention.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate perioperative care, pain management, and post-acute recovery strategies.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like ECW and Epic to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to advance pulmonology practices and improve treatment protocols.
Experience
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with board certification or eligibility in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine.
- Proven experience managing inpatient pulmonary cases within hospital medicine or ICU settings, preferably at Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Proven experience managing Pulmonary patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with medical imaging techniques including CT scans and nuclear medicine relevant to pulmonary diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with airway management techniques such as intubation and ventilator use.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like EclinicalWorks, Epic or similar platforms for documentation and patient data management.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology related to respiratory therapy, and critical care protocols.
