Summary:
Responsible for fixturing, tool set-up, in process inspection, and finish machining of tight tolerance features (+/- 0.0005). Collaborate with Managers, Process Engineers, Operators, and Quality to plan and execute the most cost-effective method for producing quality parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and sketches to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences
- Independently select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices based on part and job requirements
- Independently perform machining operations such as boring, facing, turning, drilling, tapping, and grooving using Manual Horizontal BAR
- Ability to setup Tomb Stones / 90° Angle Plates
- Perform basic daily preventive maintenance duties
- Complete required inspections, and appropriate paperwork
- Provide feedback to improve processes, tooling, etc.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work area
- Perform shop duties as directed and required.
Experience & Skills
Two to three years of progressively responsible related experience. Specifically, this position requires:
- Proficient knowledge of cutting tools, work-holding, and boring bar setups
- Ability to perform part setups using 2, 4, 6 blocks and vises
- Experience working with parts up to 5 tons
- Knowledge of feeds & speeds
- Ability to measure/inspect: lengths, diameters, radii, straightness, flatness, etc. using traditional metrology methods (ID / OD Micrometer, Caliper, Depth Gage, Radius Gage)
- Basic knowledge of GD & T
