Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify mental health, behavioral, developmental, and medical needs using diagnostic evaluation tools and clinical judgment.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), art therapy, and trauma-informed care including PTSD management.
- Implement motivational interviewing techniques to foster client motivation and engagement in treatment plans.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies, conflict management, and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety for clients and staff.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and community partners to develop tailored care plans that support home and community-based care objectives.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, behavioral health records, and case notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring confidentiality.
- Collect data on treatment progress, behavioral incidents, and service outcomes to inform ongoing care adjustments and reporting requirements. Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health conditions in community or home settings.
- Strong background in social work, mental health counseling, or related fields with familiarity in crisis management and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment procedures, and medical records documentation standards.
- Hands-on experience applying behavioral therapies such as ABA or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Skilled in working with children and families within special education or home-based environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
